Among the various abiotic stresses, drought is major factor limiting crop productivity worldwide. Citrus has been recognized as a fruit tree group of great importance to global agricultural sector since there are 140 citrus-producing countries The majority areas subjected dry and hot summer weather, limited availability water resources with parallel low-quality irrigation due increased salinity regimes. trees generally classified “salt-intolerant” high needs, especially during summer. Water scarcity negatively affects plant growth impairs cell metabolism, affecting overall quality produced fruit. Key factors that attempt sustain withstand negative effect stress extensive use rootstocks in citriculture well appropriate agronomical practices applied.
